Pool Tile and Coping
Choosing pool tile and coping
A pool is four surfaces: coping, waterline, deck and steps. Each gets wet in its own way, so each is specified on its own line of the technical sheet.
The coping and step pieces are extruded: the clay is pushed through a shaped die, then glazed and fired in the color of the field tile. None of them can be cut from a flat tile, which is why a pool is ordered as a system, counted in linear feet along the edge. All of it is matte and made in Spain.
Coping and steps need barefoot Class C under DIN 51097, and an open deck Class B or C. Frost resistance is tested under ISO 10545-12 and resistance to pool chemistry under ISO 10545-13. Each product page prints the results its factory reports. The stock is held in Deerfield Beach and Orlando.
